migrant labourer lives matter too!

Migrant lives matter!

Well, inspired by a few words tweeted by actor Deb. He recently tweeted that our hearts are broken for the brutal killing of a pregnant elephant in Kerala and a African American in USA, how are we so callous about our own countrymen? The migrant labourers who are dying for nothing!

We should be feeling sad for them too! These are just poor men and women who left their own home and went to strange cities to work for a handful of money! Their livelihood was snatched away from them in a four hour notice.

God only knows if they got food [edible] in the shelters provided to them or not! If they had been receiving that many of them would not have been traveling hundreds of miles to reach home on foot! I would not have! You?

Then after months of suffering they were stuffed up like cattle in trains and sent to different destinations where they again faced apathy and starvation!

We should be weeping for them too!

Check out these alternate journalist medias if my words sound surreal and if possible become their patrons too! We need real human beings as journalists! You will find their channels if you search their names in YouTube, I found them that way-

Vinod Dua
Prime time with Raveesh Kumar
Bhakt bannerjee or Akash Banerjee
Abhisar Sharma
Dhruv Rathee
Bharat ek mauj
News laundry

Had I been employed or had any income of my own I would have become patron of each and every one of these! These are the journalists India needs desperately!

Now, just to lighten your mood a bit, because nothing can kill the sense of humour of Bengalis- a cartoon by unknown artist!

mystifying things

Even though Microsoft permits us to keep our internet networks “invisible” but still, whenever I log in I always encounter my name-double, that is the “other” Sarmistha (fortunately she does not uses my spelling- lucky me!) online, very seldom is she not “there/here”.

Does that means that she lives in this very building too? Boy I truly loathe this name. Honestly.

the heart beats on poem 3

Sometimes a little love
Can work wonder,
A few words of kindness,
A little shelter from rain,
An selfless act of kindness
Can revive a broken soul,
From plunging into the abyss
Of self-destruction.

We sometimes get so miserly
To give
Unselfish compliment
Selfless affection
A little encouragement
Or simply holding a lonely hand,
What’s there to lose?

myriad colours of earth poem 3

Winds of change will blow
Sooner or later rocks will bow
And the river of life will rage through
Dark caves of ignorance will be left behind.

If you can’t help the river
That will be forgiven
Just be careful to stay away
From its path or don’t obstruct that.

If you fall in her path
Or become an obstruction
Willingly or unwillingly
It will wash you away with flow.

Similar is river of civilization
When the ice of centuries melt
It sets the river of change free
Don’t even dare to stand in its way!

That day is not far when hungry mouths,
Kept in darkness for years will come out
And realize that they have been robbed
They will move forward to get what’s theirs.

when the clouds dance poem 3

Maybe someday our paths will merge
and we will walk side by side.
Till then let’s keep the light burning
hope in your heart and in mine.

Till then let me hope and relish
whatever God has given me
and keep the lamp of love alight
and wait for you to come home to me.

Maybe time will prove me a fool,
for laying my heart for a wanderer,
or maybe the wander will finally see
the light left at window for him.

Follow the trail of light to hearth
where a heart waits for him
and a new story will begin
from where it was left unwritten.
